Today in Room Eight

Today Aidan, Shaun, Faith, Sonnie and Amber went to Waihi School for the interschool cross country they had to verse people from other schools. We have heard there are some challenges like going through rivers we look forward to hearing how well they did.

We started painting our canvas today we sketched an olden day desk and have put lots of layers on our canvas. We are trying out all the techniques we have learnt.

In Reading we read a story called To spray or not to spray about the Apple moths in Auckland we talked about whether we should spray to keep pests away from our native trees.

World Environmental Day

Tom putting his leaf on our tree

Our environmental tree filled with goals isn't is great?

This morning after Bible and Schools we drafted a class environmental goal in our draft books. We published them on a leaf template , then we cut them out and coloured them.
Because some of our class were away with the chat team Miss Wilsonlet us put our leaves on the tree in the office foyer.
We got some ideas from the tree people website which we joined last week.
Here is the link if you want to have a look at it. (our tree is called Room Eight)

Jono and his life

Today we went into the hall to go and see a man called Jono.
He told us about his life in a wheelchair and his career.
We learnt that it does not matter if you are disabled or you can walk what we heard that Jono went through was a lot
